Who can I call with questions on my mortgage?
Once you've applied, Mutual Security will assign a Mortgage Specialist to work directly with you during the entire process. When you have questions, you should call the Specialist assigned to your account.
Can I lock-in my rate?
Yes. Your rate can be guaranteed for a specific number of days while your application is being processed. In addition, Mutual Security offers rate protection against possible rising interest rates while letting you take advantage of declining interest rates. Ask your Mortgage Specialist for details.
Should I refinance my current mortgage?
If you currently have an outstanding mortgage and are considering refinancing, our Mortgage Specialist can help you determine the potential savings. Ask for a free analysis by calling us at (800) 761-2400, ext 2460.
What determines qualification for a mortgage?
To determine the mortgage amount that you qualify for, Mutual Security reviews your Income-to-Debt ratio including the cost of your new mortgage, taxes, and insurance. Other factors are considered depending on the type of mortgage that fits your needs. Our job is to help you get the home of your dreams without a financial burden.
How long does it take to get a mortgage?
You will usually be approved within 24 Hours. It generally takes 3 weeks to complete the closing of the loan.
How do I get started?
Simply call Mutual Security at (800) 761-2400, ext. 2460 and ask to speak with a Mortgage Specialist. Or complete the pre-qualification application online. A mortgage officer will review the various programs with you and help you complete the application.
