Our Story
Since our founding in 1954, MSCU has stood out among credit unions in Connecticut for walking the walk. Our commitment to our members has always gone beyond providing convenient banking solutions, competitive rates, and sound financial advice.
We take great pride in our broader community and the legacy we’ve built, creating meaningful impact both inside and outside MSCU’s doors.
Today we serve more than 28,000 members across five branch locations in Western Connecticut. We are 100% member-owned, and all profits are returned to our membership, local businesses, and organizations through lower loan rates, higher deposit rates, better services, and community support.

2024 Outstanding Credit Union Young Professional Award
Presented by the Credit Union League of Connecticut. The Outstanding Credit Union Young Professional Award honors and recognizes a credit union young professional under 40 years of age who has demonstrated leadership and/or made a significant contribution to their credit union or the credit union movement. Each year, the Awards Committee chooses an individual focused on initiatives that help credit union members.
2023 CUNA Award for Leadership in Adult Financial Education
Presented by The Credit Union National Association (CUNA). MSCU was recognized by CUNA for its Leadership in Adult Financial Education through our FIT (Financial Independence Training) programs.
2023 Marketing Excellence Award in Website Redesign
Presented by the Connecticut Union League of Connecticut (CULCT). CULCT presents awards to Connecticut credit union management, staff, and volunteers for individual accomplishments and to credit unions for outstanding contributions to their members, communities, and the credit union movement.
