Green Initiatives
We're consistently looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and improve the environment - including installing solar panels at our Danbury branch. We're proud to have partnered with the Connecticut Green Bank, and several local businesses, to provide long-term, low-interest financing for home energy improvement projects. Plus we host annual shred days! Our upcoming ones include:
Employee Volunteerism
Our workplace culture embraces our commitment to elevate the well-being of Western Connecticut. With volunteer-time-off, MSCU employees spend countless hours each year strengthening our community by getting out of the office and spending time supporting a cause that they’re passionate about.
Scholarship Opportunities
Every year, we award six $1,000 Mutual Security Credit Union Community Service Scholarships to students, who are in good academic standing, have demonstrated financial need, and have given selflessly of themselves to improve the overall state of affairs in their community.
Community Giving
We strive to be a true community partner and assist the great work nonprofit organizations in Western Connecticut are doing to help individuals in times of great need.
In 2021 alone, we have supported Homes for the Brave, Valley United Way, Star Inc., Boys and Girls Club of Lower Naugatuck Valley, The Alliance for Community Empowerment Inc., The Prosperity Foundation, The Carver Foundation, Fairfield County Community Foundation Thrive by 25, Filling in the Blanks, Bridgeport Rescue Mission, BHCare, Keystone House, Wellmore Behavioral Health, The Child & Family Guidance Center, United Way Danbury Food Collaborative, Adam's House, St. Vincent DePaul Mission of Waterbury, and Griffin Health.
