Mutual Security Credit Union is committed to elevating and improving the community where our members live, work and play. From green initiatives to charitable giving to financial education programs, MSCU prides itself on being an active and responsible member of Western Connecticut.
Learn all the ways we’re making a positive impact:
Informed members make wise financial decisions. That’s why we’re so passionate about educating and empowering our members. We’re proud to provide free seminars, practical advice, and valuable tips for all of life’s milestones.
We're consistently looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and improve the environment - including installing solar panels at our Danbury branch. We're proud to have partnered with the Connecticut Green Bank, and several local businesses, to provide long-term, low-interest financing for home energy improvement projects. Plus we host an annual Shred Day!
Our workplace culture embraces our commitment to elevate the well-being of Western Connecticut. With volunteer-time-off, MSCU employees spend countless hours each year strengthening our community by getting out of the office and spending time supporting a cause that they’re passionate about.
Every year, we award six $1,000 Mutual Security Credit Union Community Service Scholarships to students, who are in good academic standing, have demonstrated financial need, and have given selflessly of themselves to improve the overall state of affairs in their community.
We strive to be a true community partner and assist the great work nonprofit organizations in Western Connecticut are doing to help individuals in times of great need.

At Mutual Security Credit Union, we're proud to support the people in the communities we serve. It is our mission to elevate and secure the standards of well-being within the communities of Western Connecticut.
As you know best, one organization cannot be all things to all people. At MSCU, we focus our community impact projects on the following four areas:
• Financial Education
• Health and Human Services
• Housing Programs
• Environmental Programs
It is our belief that our efforts in these areas will help secure a more vibrant future for our members, their families, and their communities.
We will review every request submitted and try to be fair and equitable in the donations we make. If we are not able to support your cause in the current year, we recommend you resubmit your request the following year. Our donation budget changes each year and we are committed to being diverse in selecting the organizations that we can help.
