What is an ITIN?
ITIN stands for Individual Tax Identification Number. The IRS provides ITINs to persons not eligible for Social Security Numbers.
If I have an ITIN, can I access the same products and services?
Mutual Security Credit Union wants all members to have access to services and products that will help them reach their financial goals. With an ITIN, you have access to all services and products except real estate lending.
Do I need an ITIN/SSN, or can I have both to open an account/loan?
A tax identification number is necessary to open accounts or loans. If you previously had an ITIN and now have an SSN, you must provide the most current and valid identification number.
Do I need an account with Mutual Security Credit Union to get a loan?
You need to be a member to get a loan at Mutual Security Credit Union. Learn more about Mutual Security Credit Union and what it means to be a member by clicking here.
What type of identification is needed to open an account?
For all new members, we require valid government-issued identification (for example, a state-issued driver’s license/identification card, Matricula consular, US passport, or military identification). In addition to identification, you must provide a valid government issued photo ID.
